No, no need to download an app, and in fact, if you have the Audiobiography app you should delete it from your devices. We've advanced a lot since our app days! Instead, simply login to your phone's web browser or any other connected device. All of our functionality is on the web so anyone worldwide can move seamlessly between any connected device to access and add or consume content.
Of course! We had to pick a "narrative path" on our website (the gift giving angle) but many many users buy Audiobiography for themselves. Truth be told, it's the best gift a person can be given, and it's the best gift a person can give. Once your Audiobiography is done, giving the Book of Transcriptions which links to your audio recordings is simply one of the coolest things in the history of the universe.
You can delete and re-record anything at any time. There are no limits whatsoever. Tell the story as many times as you'd like until you feel great about it.
Yes. Click the gear icon within the story inside your account, then click "download". All audio recordings are downloaded neatly into their own folders, along with all associated pictures. The whole process is clean and tidy, and we recommend backing up your story as often as you'd like.
Yes. But all questions are available from day one, and it's easy to get sucked in working at your own speed. We've found that periodic reminders really keep storytellers on track, so we've created a system that works. But we're built in a way to satisfy all the overachievers out there and also anyone who takes a lifetime to complete their Audiobiography. There are no time limitations whatsoever.
Yes. The simplest way is to post the share link within a profile. Alternatively, you can download and then upload the audio files individually.
We send everything to your inbox Immediately. If you’re experiencing any issues, check your spam or promotions folder. And you can always reach us at email@example.com if you don't see it right away.
Of course! The book is printed point in time, that's for sure. But your Audiobiography can be added to forever. Anyone who opens a book and scans on the QR code to access the audio recordings will be able to listen to all of your Audiobiography, even if all of it isn't in the Book of Transcriptions.
As soon as you check out, we deliver an email to your inbox that includes a unique link to start an Audiobiography. Also, attached to the email is a printable card that includes a unique QR code. You can either print the card and package it however you'd like, or forward the email to the person you're giving the gift to.
There is no recording limit with Audiobiography. Each question can hold an unlimited amount of audio. Recordings are done in ten minute segments, but there is no limit to the number of segments recorded. Each segment can be named and rearranged on the question page to create clarity for the listener.
Yes. Tap record to start. Tap pause if you need to think for a minute. Tap resume to resume. Everything stitches together perfectly just as you'd expect :)
In the cloud. All audio is saved and played back from the cloud so it takes up no room on your device and can be done from anywhere. And you can download a backup of your entire audio story, including all photos added along the way, at any time from inside your account. We use the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as our primary storage and infrastructure.
Inside your account you'll see a share button and share settings. Tap the share button to share your story via text, email, social media, etc. Listeners simply click the link you share. No app required. If your story is marked private, anyone wanting to subscribe will ask permission. You'll get a notice to let them in. You can remove them at any time by tapping the "manage audience" button inside your gear icon. If your story is public, anyone you share the story with can begin listening instantly without asking permission.
Your happiness is our guarantee. If you aren't delighted with our service, we offer full refunds within 90 days of purchase no questions asked. If we've already printed custom books, we cannot return those except for issues with workmanship in which case your books can be refunded or replaced.
There are no time limits whatsoever. Think of this more like an audio journal. You can work through the questions we provide. Add more of your own. Come back and record more at any time.
Every audio file (or story) is transcribed automatically. Next to any recording you'll see three dots. This is an overflow menu. Tap the dots to reveal some options. One of those options is to see the transcription. Once the transcription is open, you can edit it if you'd like. Note - since the transcription is happening in the background, you'll need to either leave and come back to the question, or refresh your browser for the transcription to show up as an option in the menu.
The accuracy of transcription depends partly on the clarity of the recording. Under normal circumstances, accuracy is around 99% and includes for the most part, accurate punctuation. That may seem high, and it is! But imagine 1 in 100 letters or 1 in 100 words being slightly off. You will notice it. However, all transcriptions are editable. You can review and clean them up at any time for future readers or prior to printing a Book of Transcriptions.
We print on demand, and all books are hardcover which still has a human component to bind them properly. We use a binder and printer here in the US and the materials are archival quality. If printing a single book, the base price is $40 plus 15 cents per page. So a 400 page book would cost $100. However, if you're ordering multiple copies, each additional copy is 50% off. So two 400 page books would be $150, three would be $200. We are happy to pass along the production savings when we produce in quantities greater than one.
